(sorry for not logging on recently)
Uh yeah...most of them are right I think but probably local talk among casual friends and stuff. =)
First of all, if you are talking to your CLOSE friend, NOT ACQUAINTANCE (which goes to most Asian countries as well, not only Japan), you can speak casual and cuss all you want, as long as you don't scare them away. But if you're talking to someone who's 'higher' than you, like and elderly person, your teacher/sensei/master/kyushi, a stranger or something like that, BE POLITE.
To friends: oi, 'sup (yeah they say 'sup and "yo" in Japan..), whatever.
To higher-ranked people: Konnichiwa, _____-san/sama; Domo arigatou (gozaimasu), _____-san/sama.
-----
In words like 'gozaimasu', you don't pronounce the 'U' at the end. Also, such as 'memashita', for an example, you don't say it like "Meh-mah-shee-tah", you say it like "meh-mah-shte" as if there were no letter "I" in it.
That's how English (transliteration) AND Japanese spell it, but I don't give a clue why because it's stupid.
-----
If using an English word, such as "ice cream", they Nihongo-nize it, make it easier for the Japanese to say it since they can't really pronounce it in English. They'd say "ai-su-ku-ri-mu." That's only an example. "Ice", however, has a specific word in Japanese, which is "kori."
-----
Japanese and Chinese write their numbers the same but SAY it differently. I don't know how to say it in Chinese though...
Oh and Sen, btw, your name means 1000. -----
Why does Gaara have no last name, as for his siblings as well? Don't know, maybe the author doesn't give a crap about it, makes them more mysterious or something, but in Japanese, they call the Sand Siblings "Sabaku no Gaara" "Sabaku no Temari" "Sabaku no Kankuro." Sabaku means "Desert." In the English version, sometimes they address them as "Gaara of the Desert" "Temari of the--" you get what I mean...
-----
Lots of the Naruto-character names mean something. Naruto means 'maelstrom' and can also be a pun for the English-AT sign (@) since it is swirly like a maelstrom, a type of hurricane.
Sakura: cherry blossom (her hair is pink, what do you think?)
Haruno: spring field
Sasuke: not really anything...
Uchiha/Uchihwa: paper fan
Kakashi: scarecrow
Gaara: kind of like death in a way...
Itachi: weasel...LOL (In Japan, weasels are a sign of bad luck so...that's why Itachi was bad luck for the Uchiha clan..cuz I killed em all! MWAHAHAHA)
Akatsuki: Sunset (kinda girly for an evil orginization...)
Kage: shadow
Kaze: sand
blablabla
-----
I'll post more when I can think of more lessons...CLASS FOR TODAY IS OVER!
